Dr. Kelly Phillips, DVM
Dr. Kelly Phillips is a native of Detroit, Michigan. Much of her childhood was spent around animals, with grandparents who showed and bred Great Danes as well as Arabian horses. If there was a snake or frog to be caught she would be the one to do it! She knew veterinary medicine was her calling before she started high school. She spent some time volunteering at a local veterinary hospital and enjoyed summers at a farm camp where she learned how to shear sheep, care for chickens, and ride horseback.
Dr. Phillips obtained her undergraduate degree in Biological Science from the University of Nevada - Las Vegas. While living there she worked as a research assistant on a large scale project studying the endangered desert tortoises living in the area. Once the project was completed, she was invited to join a lead research professor at Georgia Southern University in additional research work. She completed a Master of Science degree there while studying the endangered Gopher frog. She was admitted into the veterinary medicine program at the University of Georgia and completed her studies there, graduating in 1999.
Over the past 20+ years Dr. Phillips has worked in many areas of veterinary medicine. She has extensive experience with family practice, emergency medicine and surgery, and exotic pets.
